Thunderstorms south-eastern Europe


Tuesday
High temperatures extend across western Europe today - highs reaching 33 to 37C across Spain and Portugal, plus central & western France. Plenty of dry and sunny weather across the continent as high pressure influences many countries.
Breezy around Gibraltar, and also Italy, Corsica & Sardinia. A few thunderstorms for southern Italy and mainland Greece , whilst the Greek Islands plus Cyprus will be dry. Risk of scattered thunderstorms for Romania and Bulgaria. Dry elsewhere across the Balkans, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
Dry with light winds and sunshine for Germany and the Low Countries, highs 24 to 27C. Fairly fresh for Poland at 21 to 24C. Showers affect the Baltic countries, also Finland and northern Sweden. Dry for Norway and Denmark.


Wednesday
Lots of dry weather again across the continent as high pressure remains in charge, centred around Germany and Poland. Western countries remain hot. Chance of a thundery shower for north-west Spain, but most of Spain and Portugal will stay dry with lots of sunshine. Dry and very warm across the western Mediterranean. Thunderstorms breaking out near the south of Italy and Sicily, also mainland Greece, Romania and Bulgaria.
Dry across central Europe. Temperatures again well into the 30s Celsius for France. Risk of a thunderstorm later for Brittany. A warmer day for Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, highs 27 to 30C. Rain soon spreads into Norway from the west, but elsewhere across Scandinavia it should be dry, and feeling warm in southern Sweden.
