Central Europe improving by Thursday

Low pressure continues to influence northern Europe, whilst areas of high pressure are located southwest of Iberia, and also around the Black Sea. Showers for northern Spain and Portugal, whilst central and southern Spain stays hot and dry. Much of the Mediterranean holds onto sunshine and very warm conditions, well into the 30s Celsius widely.
Slack low pressure over central Europe produces widespread thundery downpours for the Alps and Germany, some advancing eastwards into Poland. Areas of heavy rain also spread across the Baltic states into Belarus, northern Ukraine and western Russia. Generally hot and dry for southeastern Europe.
Showers should clear from west & northern France, with brighter skies extending in from the west. Showers will be scattered across the Low countries. Slow-moving areas of thundery rain affect southern Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Northern Scandinavia should be generally drier and brighter.

Thursday
Low pressure developing over the Atlantic moves toward Biscay. Heavy rain is likely to move into northwestern Spain and Portugal. Staying hot and dry across most of Iberia, plust the Mediterranean. A few thundery showers possible for northern Italy and perhaps Corsica. Hot sunshine for Greece and the Black Sea coasts.
Much of France will be dry, although some low cloud and patchy rain may move across northwestern areas. Generally dry for central-southern Germany and the Low Countries. Isolated showers for the Alps.
An area of low pressure deepens and tracks northeastward over eastern Europe, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to Poland in the early hours, extending to Belarus, the Baltic states and western Russia into the daytime. Risk of strong winds in this area. Showery again for southern Scandinavia, with some slow-moving downpours forming again. Scattered showers for Finland. Mainly dry but quite cool in the far north with winds off the Arctic.
