Mostly dry and bright conditions spread from the west across Central Europe this weekend


Saturday
Showers and outbreaks of rain edging northward across Spain and Portugal. Showers turning heavy and thundery for northern Spain through the afternoon. Mostly dry and warm for the Balearic Islands, Corsica and Sardinia though Mallorca and Minorca could see the odd scattered shower. Heavy thundery showers affecting much of Italy and the Balkans. Staying dry for the far south of Italy and Sicily. Warm here too. Warm and mostly fine for Greece and Turkey though northern parts of Greece and southern parts of Turkey could see some heavy but isolated showers through the afternoon and evening.
A mostly dry, fair and warm day for France. Early showers will clear from the Low Countries and Switzerland leaving a fine afternoon here. Outbreaks of rain and thundery showers affecting Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and much of Poland. Staying dry and sunny for northern parts of Poland.
A fair day for Denmark though light scattered showers may affect southeastern areas. Mostly fair too for the Baltic States, Finland, Sweden and Norway with scattered, isolated light showers. Continuing cool here too.

Sunday
Thundery showers continue for Spain first thing but these clear to the northeast through the day. Dry, warm and sunny across the rest of the Iberian peninsula. The Balearics, Corsica, Sardinia and Italy could see isolated light showers at times. These becoming heavier and more frequent over Italy through the afternoon. Early morning thunderstorms should clear from Greece but move into western Turkey through the afternoon. Cooler conditions with isolated showers follow from the northwest.
A mostly dry and fair day for France, the Low Countries and Germany though there will be scattered showers at times for eastern France, Belgium and southern Germany. A showery day for the Czech Republic, Austria, southwestern Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. Some of the showers may be thundery and they may merge at times to give longer spells of light rain.
A dry and mostly bright day for Denmark. Scattered showers affecting eastern parts of Finland and the Baltic States but elsewhere it should be dry and bright. Isolated showers affecting southern parts of Norway and Sweden. These merging to give longer spells of rain for southwestern Sweden.
