Gales in northern Europe, heavy rain in Spain


Thursday
Rain in eastern Spain today, some of it heavy. Wet again in the Balearics too. Better for the rest of Spain and Portugal with sunny spells. Rain in Corsica and across southern Italy. Greece should be dry with sunny spells. Breezy in Turkey, again with good spells of sunshine here.
A fair day in France with morning mist and fog patches lifting to leave sunny spells. Staying fair in the Low Countries and Germany, again with more sunshine. Breezy in northern Poland but fair and dry. It should be staying fair in Hungary, Austria and Switzerland with more sunshine here.
Windy for Denmark with broken cloud and some rain in the west. Windy too in the Baltic States with severe gales. These gales extending to Finland where there will be rain and sleet. More gales inin Sweden and through Norway. Some heavy rain and showers in the west and north of Norway.

Friday
A few showers in eastern Spain today, but fair for most of Iberia. Scattered showers in the Balearics with heavier showers in Corsica. Italy will have showers in central areas but should be dry to the north and south. Greece will be dry with sunny spells and it should be dry for Turkey too.
A fair day for much of France once morning fog patches have cleared. Rain in northern France. This rain and win extends into northern parts of the Low Countries and Germany as well as Poland. Southern Poland, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland should be dry with sunny spells.
Wind and some rain in Denmark. The Baltic States will be windy with outbreaks of rain. Chilly for Finland but dry. More chilly weather in much of Sweden with some showers to the south. Rain in western parts of Norway.
