Rain in the west on Sunday but drier to the east


Saturday
A trough of low pressure affects Iberia, bringing clusters of thundery showers to Spain, whilst Portugal should be dry - highs of 20C. Slack high pressure over the western Mediterranean and western central Europe brings fair weather to Italy, the Alps, the Low Countries, much of Germany and France. Rain develops for the Biscay coast later, whilst a few showers are possible in eastern Germany - these also affecting Poland. A cold front extends across east & south-eastern Europe, bringing persistent bursts of rain to western Ukraine, Romania and the southern Balkans. Meanwhile, Greece, the eastern Med and areas around the Black Sea stay dry and very warm, into the mid-high 20s Celsius. Low pressure pushing north brings rain to the Baltic states and later Finland. Brisk easterly winds for much of Scandinavia, but high pressure to the north maintains plenty of dry weather.

Sunday
Rain affects the north of Spain on Sunday. Dry for Portugal with plenty of sunshine and staying dry across central and southern Spain too. More sunshine in the Balearics and Italy and warm here too. Greece may see some showers, but coastal areas are likely to be dry and sunny. Scattered showers in Turkey with sunny spells.
A wet Sunday for France with some heavy rain in more northern areas. Mostly dry in the Low Countries and breezy here too. Germany is going to be breezy and mild but dry overall. Fair in most of Poland with sunny spells, although some showers in the southeast. Hungary, Austria and Switzerland should be dry with more sunshine here.
Denmark will be dry with sunny spells. Staying dry in the Baltic States with more spells of sunshine throughout. Scattered showers and breezy in Finland and northern Sweden. Norway is likely to be dry with sunny spells.
