Staying Fine, Sunny and Warm in the Mediterranean

Today
Warm across eastern parts of Europe and hot across Iberia. An area of heavy showers and rain is expected across Britain, most of France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Germany. Dry across the far south of France today. Heavy showers are forecast for northern parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland with southern areas dry and sunny. An area of rain will extend across Russia, The Baltic States across Belarus into the Ukraine with sunny spells and showers across Romania. Lots of warm sunshine to come across Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria into the former Yugoslavia, the Czech Republic and Austria. Heavy showers will affect the Alps with much of Italy dry except for a few afternoon showers. Sunny across the Balearics into Spain and Portugal. A fine, mostly sunny day to come across Poland.

Thursday
Becoming warmer across mainland Europe today. Expect outbreaks of rain across England, northern parts of France and into Belgium today and some of this will be heavy. A number of heavy showers are forecast for northern parts of Spain, the rest of France and into northern parts of Germany and across Denmark. Some rain to come across Portugal today with central and southern parts of Spain, dry, sunny and very warm. Dry weather will extend across the Balearics across Corsica, Sardinia into all of Italy, the former Yugoslavia, Greece and western Turkey. Eastern Turkey will have a few isolated heavy, thundery showers. Lots of dry weather to come across Bulgaria, Romania and the Czech Republic. Very warm here as well. Rain is expected across Switzerland and the Alps with a few showers across Austria, Hungary, Poland and Sweden. Most of Finland looks fine and dry with sunny spells. Dry but cloudy across the Baltic States with heavy rain and showers expected across much of Russia into the Ukraine. Sunshine and showers are expected across Norway. Strong west wind will be blowing through the Straits of Gibraltar with cyclonic gales through the Bay of Biscay and western France.
